Venus Players are a group of actors and musicians playing together to create "...a meditative fusion of sound and voice..." Performing in intimate spaces, Venus Players create a sublime atmosphere, using some of the world's most powerful love poetry mingled with the haunting sounds of the lute, the gong and crystal singing bowls.
Nicholas Audsley
Nicholas has worked as a professional actor for eight years. In this time he has combined roles in experimental theatre with television and film. Starting out playing Shakespeare at school and at the Bavaria Baroc Festival, it was during one of these performances that he caught the attention of top London agent Lou Coulson. This gave rise to roles as diverse as Anne Frank's innocent lover Peter Van Pels for ABC to a serial killing policeman in the BBC's Silent Witness.
Throughout his career Nick has maintained a strong connection to Shakespeare; "finding a purity in his words which returns us to what is really real in what we have to offer as performers."
Marion Reynolds
Marion is a complimentary therapist practising Reflexology, Electrocrystal therapy and Bowen therapy. For Marion, playing the crystal bowl is a form of sound healing and has a natural affinity to her therapy work.
"Crystals are living beings that amplify and focus energy, and they serve us in so many ways. Hands help to express what's in our hearts and I am drawn nowadays to working particularly with hand reflexology. When I play the crystal singing bowl I can bring together my love of hands and my love of crystals in a way that is magical for me and, I hope, for others."
Lesley Ann Pover
Lesley began her acting career touring selected scenes from Shakespeare. Her parts included Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Kate (Taming of the Shrew) and the Boy Prince Arthur (King John). Whilst bringing up her sons, Lesley worked primarily as a teacher and sculptress. Her sculptures can be viewed in www.lesleypover.com and www.bronze-icons.com. Her most recent commission was a statue of Nelson for the World Heritage site of Greenwich. She is listed in the Dictionary of International Biography.
Over the last three years Lesley has returned to performance art, working with actors and musicians to explore the passionate longing in the love poetry of Shakespeare and Rumi.

The Lute
"Light the flame of your soul with the light of love.
From the Beloved learn the hymn of love.
Like the strings of the lute, sing the secret of secrets.
Like the nightingale untie the story of the mysteries."
